The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre is closed to the public until February 16, 2021 (subject to change) due to the provincial Stay at Home Order.  We have virtual programs running for January/February. View our Activity Guide to see the programs we are offering. These programs will be offered over Zoom only, registration will begin January 11 and programs will start January 18. All other in-person programs will be on hold until further notice.

Health and wellness programs

You can get active and stay healthy. Choose a class or program to best fit your fitness level; from very beginner to more challenging classes. Visit our health and wellness programs page to learn more.

50+ speaker series

You can join us on on ZOOM the last Monday of the month at 11:30 a.m. Listen to an interesting and informative speaker, ask questions and socialize virtually with others, There is also an option to phone-in if you do not have a computer. The link will be sent once your registration is received.

January 25 - Winter driving 
Winter driving presents different challenges for drivers. Make sure you are ready for winter driving with this 30-minute presentation that will provide you with tips and advice to help you stay in control on the road this winter. Presented by:  Melanie Trottier - Ministry of Transportation. February 22 - Understanding Ontario's personal income tax, credits and benefits amid the COVID-19 pandemic
How well do you understand Ontario’s personal income tax, credits and benefit programs? How does it all work in a year disrupted by a pandemic? Are there new relief measures you can access? Will your income for 2020 be significantly impacted by year end and change what you normally qualify for? The Ontario Ministry of Finance invites you to attend a free, one-hour webinar designed to help you understand personal income tax, credits and benefits, and how they are impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.Regardless of your age, income level, or time of year it is, your time will be well spent. Learn and create series

Every Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. You can join us over ZOOM and create something new! We will feature a variety of instructors who will help you create a new masterpiece each week; from technology to arts and crafts, to home-cooking, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Supply lists will be sent to you prior to your class.

 January 21 - Line and ink watercolour wash
Join our Pencil Art instructor, Gail, and learn how to create line & ink watercolour wash pictures.  These beautiful pictures are only limited by your imagination as you colour-wash using watercolour paints or pencils and then add ink lines to highlight the pictures and shapes you see in the wash. January 28 - All occasion card creation
Exercise your creative expression designing beautiful, handmade greeting cards you can use for any occasion!  Karen, from Stamping Chic Papercrafters, will provide a fun experience learning to use card templates with a mixture of paper shapes, ribbons and rhinestones to create your masterpiece!  We will also explore options to add dimension, which you can use to create cards on your own. The card making supplies will be provided by Chartwell Bayview Retirement Residence. (Shortcode: 9246)
February 4 - Creating statement jewelry
Join Gail and learn how to create beautiful, one of a kind jewelry that expresses your style.  Gail will teach you how to make clay using an easy recipe with only a few household ingredients and then show you how to use it to make a beautiful pendant that is uniquely you. The techniques you learn will enable you to create jewelry to match every outfit! (Shortcode: 9247)
February 11 - Made with love - baking with Chef Jesse
Chef Jesse from Quinte Gardens will be joining us to create a delicious Valentine's treat for you to enjoy. Quinte gardens will supply the ingredients so you can follow along with him. (Shortcode: 9248)

Relax and Meditate with Myra

Join Myra on Zoom every Friday at 11:00 a.m. to end your week with a thirty minute relaxation and meditation session. Guided meditation is known to have highly relaxing effects on the conscious and subconscious mind. This type of meditation is suitable for both new and experienced participants and can be performed either seated or laying down to be even more relaxed. Sit back, relax, and let go of your stress. Fun on the Phone!

If you have a phone, you can join the fun! This free new telephone-based program for older adults (50+) to connect with others and participate in a fun activity is being offered by the Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre, Quinte West Public Library and City of Belleville Recreation, Culture & Community Services.  Join us every Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:00 pm for a different activity from games to speakers to chatting with new friends. You will receive the phone number and meeting code upon registration. (Shortcode: 9250)
