Learn more about our Winter 2025 Registration dates. 

We offer a variety of Health and Wellness programs for adults, older adults, drop-in sports and games, workout studio, personal training and the Family Dental Centre Indoor Track (10+).  To learn more about preschool, children and youth programs visit that page. Programs are offered at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road). Register online or call 613-966-4632 for details and to register.

Withdraw/refund information

Program descriptions

For additional information on dates, times and fees and/or to register, follow the link under each description, go to our online registration or call our office at 613-966-4632.

Levels:

  • Recreation: Activity done for enjoyment for all levels.
  • Open: All levels are welcome.
  • Beginner: A person just starting to learn a skill or take part in an activity
  • Intermediate: A person having the knowledge or skill of someone who is more advanced than a beginner but not yet an expert.
  • Advanced: A person with lots of experience and knowledge in a specific skill or activity.

*It is at the discretion of the participant to decide which level they best fit.

Recreation Fee Assistance

If you live in Belleville, you can apply for recreation subsidies and fee assistance. We have subsidies available for 25% to 75% off the cost of the program based on income. The subsidy expires on June 30 of each year.

ActivityDescription

Basketball

Basketball is a team sport where two teams oppose each other on a court trying to shoot a ball through the other teams’ hoop. This sport will work on your team building skills, your coordination skills, and your fast thinking skills. This class will leave you fit, active, and enhance your skill level. Sports & Games Not offered in the Summer.

Crokinole

Crokinole is a popular table top game with elements of shuffleboard and curling. Join in this popular game, meet new people and enjoy some friendly competition. A 50+ Centre Membership is required for this free program 50+ Centre Programs

Table Tennis

Table Tennis is a sport where two-four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It is a great way to meet new people, burn calories and improving health. This class will allow you to learn something new or further develop your skills. Sports & Games Not offered in the Summer.

Open Gym

Children under 10 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Open Gym is a time where participants of all ages can come to use the space for physical activity. Equipment will be available for participants to use such as basketballs, volleyballs, floorball equipment, and more. Access to equipment may be limited based on the number of registrations. Sports & Games

Family Gym/ Open Gym

Children under 10 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Family Gym/Open Gym is a time where participants of all ages can come to use the space for physical activity. Equipment will be available for participants to use such as basketballs, volleyballs, floorball equipment, and more. Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport of two teams with six players each, where each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other teams’ court under organized rules. Players use their hands to bat a ball back and forth over a high net trying to make the ball hit the ground of the other teams’ court. This class will let you be competitive in a fun and open environment. Sports & Games
 

Badminton

Badminton is a sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net from player to player. The objective of the game is to hit the shuttlecock back and forth across the net and keep it from hitting the ground. This class will allow you to keep fit, stay active, practice skills whiling having fun with friends. Sports & Games

Pickleball

Pickleball is an extremely popular sport that combines elements if tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a court with a hard paddle and a whiffle ball where the goal of the game is to hit the ball back and forth until someone makes a mistake and points are received, aiming for 11 points to win the game. This class will allow you to have some fun, learn something new and meet new people. Sports & Games

Soccer Skills & Drills

Join us each week for a fun recreational soccer class. Each week we will work on our conditioning, skill development and game play. No soccer experience is needed. All levels are welcome.

Sporty Kids

This program focuses on getting kids active in a variety of ways including camp style games, sports and skill development. Each week you will practice sport specific skills, fitness and game play with the help of our instructor.

Kids Floor Hockey

Kids floor hockey is a fun and fast-paced game for children ages 8-12. Played indoors, it’s similar to ice hockey but without the skates! Players use lightweight sticks to pass and shoot a soft ball into the opposing team’s goal. The game focuses on teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship, helping kids develop their agility, focus, and communication skills while having a blast! It’s a great way to stay active, make new friends, and enjoy the excitement of hockey in a safe, non-contact setting.

Teen Futsal

Futsal is a variation of indoor soccer that is played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular ball. Played with boundaries like the outdoor game but has more of an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and quickness of play. Shorter timed games are played in team of 4 plus a goalkeeper per side and all games will have a referee. Not offered in the Summer. Sports & Games

Teen Volleyball

Teen recreational volleyball is a fun and relaxed environment for youth to come and practice their volleyball skills or play games with other participants.

Boccia (Adaptive Sport)

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that can be played by anyone, with or without a disability. Originally designed for people with severe cerebral palsy, it is now enjoyed by players with a wide variety of disabilities. It’s easy for a beginner to pick up quickly, but builds in intensity and complexity as players hone their skills. Drop in sport is welcome to all levels of players including those looking to try a new sport. Not offered in the Summer. Sports & Games

Carpet Bowling

If you enjoy strategizing and socializing, this program is for you! Carpet Bowling is a fun game that can help improve your balance, flexibility and agility while you enjoy an afternoon of socializing. Not offered in the Summer. Sports & Games

Shuffleboard

Join us each week on the shuffleboard courts to have fun and work on perfecting your aim! This program offers older adults the opportunity to be gently active while socializing with friends and enjoying the popular game of shuffleboard. Not offered in the Summer. Sports & Games

Guitar Lessons

Learn to play the acoustic guitar in a small group setting. This course starts with the basics and builds each week on what you have previously learned. Students must bring their own acoustic guitar. 

 

Workout Studio

Workout Studio - Monday through Sunday. Various timeslots. Pre-booking is required.

The Workout Studio is open to ages 16+ years and is $5.25/visit.

There are 60 minute sessions available. The workout studio has a variety of equipment such as treadmills, bikes, recumbent climbers, weights, and more.

Youth, ages 13-15, can attend with a parent/guardian or to attend alone, must take two orientations sessions for $4.25/visit.

Personal training

Note: Due to staff shortage we are currently not accepting new personal training clients at this time.

Personal Training is a one to one session with you and a personal trainer who will personalize a workout to your needs, abilities, skills, and knowledge. Availability is limited and is based on each instructor’s schedules and availability.

Our personal trainers will help you to reach your health and fitness goals. The first session begins with an hour consultation where your trainer can get to know you, yours goals, your current fitness abilities, health restrictions and your availability. Completing this consultation allows your trainer to create a custom plan that will get you started on the right track to success.

Private (1:1) and semi-private (1:2 or 1:3) sessions are available. Pricing ranges from $27.50 to $54.00 for private.

You must book one hour for your first visit so the trainer can go through your goals and build a program that best suits your needs.

Family Dental Centre Indoor Track

Clients do not need to pre-register for the FDC Indoor Track.

  • Cost is free
  • The track area will not be regularly monitored, but we will do spot checks to ensure clients are following the rules.
  • Open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (holiday hours may differ).

Please be aware that your actions have an effect on others. To ensure a safe, rewarding and positive experience for all users and staff, please treat everyone with respect and dignity. Unsafe, disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour could result in removal of program room privileges.

Running Track Guidelines:

  • Inside Lane – Slower Lane
  • Middle Lane - Medium Speed Lane
  • Outer Lane - Faster Lane

Running/Track Direction:

  • Monday/Tuesday/Friday/Saturday – Counter Clockwise
  • Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday – Clockwise

Distances:

  • One Lap: 163.94m (inside lane) – 175.44m (outside lane)
  • One (1) k.m. = 6.1 laps on the inside lane / 5.7 laps of outside lane
  • 9.6 laps = 1 mile

General Rules:

  • Outdoor footwear, cleats, socks, or bare feet are not permitted on the track.
  • Please wear only clean, athletic footwear while using the track.
  • Food, drinks and personal belongings are not permitted in the indoor track area.  Please secure these items in the lockers provided in the change rooms (bring a lock or purchase one from the front desk).
  • Water is permitted only in a closed container, no glass containers please.
  • Walking sticks or poles with sharp ends are not allowed on track.
  • Strollers are permitted on track, provided the wheels are clean.
  • Track users under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult. Coaches, trainers, parents, guardians – please stay with your athletes/ youth to ensure proper supervision and usage of the track facility.

 Etiquette:

  • No spitting or littering.
  • This is a scent free area; please avoid using heavily scented products.

 Safety:

  • Please run/walk in direction indicated only.
  • Please allow faster walkers or runners to pass in the outer lanes.
  • Shoulder check and verbalize your intentions before passing. If being passed, please keep your pace consistent as speeding up or slowing down could be hazardous to others.
  • When slowing to a stop please shoulder check before moving off the track.
  • No free weights on the track.
  • Please report any accident, injury, or concerns immediately to staff.

Lunch Time Express Pass - If you're attending more than two lunch time classes per week, consider purchasing a session pass. You can attend any of the lunch time fitness classes.

Pre-registration is required for all fitness classes, even those with a session pass.

Balance Yoga: Mind & Body

This class is open to all levels. The poses and movements will be done on the mat and standing. The focus will be on moving the body to strengthen the connections between the right and left side of the brain using cross lateral movements and yoga poses. Participants may see improvements in memory, balance and strengthen the body.

Cardio Core

This 30 minutes class will elevate your fitness game blending heart-pumping cardio exercises with targeted core-strengthening movements. Designed to burn calories, improve endurance, and sculpt a strong core, Cardio Core delivers a high-energy workout that will leave you feeling invigorated and accomplished.

Chair Yoga

Our special Chair Yoga classes are for those who no longer wish to be up and down off their mats. It offers modifications to regular yoga to accommodate those who require it.

Dancing for Adults -Beginner or Intermediate

Learn to dance to great music with Marek. This beginner dance class is for people with little or no dance experience. Get ready to show your dancing skills at the next wedding or social gathering. Improve your dance technique by learning different styles of dance. Waltz, foxtrot, tango, jive/rock, merengue, salsa, rumba, cha-cha, and more. Great way to be active and come in a pair or as a single.
Dance Fusion for Adults (NEW) Unleash your inner dancer with our Dance Fusion for Adults class! Whether you’re revisiting moves from your childhood or exploring styles you missed out on, this class is perfect for anyone eager to learn, laugh, and groove with friends. We’ll cover a variety of dance styles, from classic jazz and hip-hop to contemporary and musical theatre, providing a fun and engaging way to get moving. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for dancing and a willingness to have a great time!
Fit & Firm 60 minutes of cardiovascular and resistance training followed by a full body stretch. You will focus on your form, technique, and breathing. We will use a variety of equipment to maximize your workouts. All fitness levels are welcome.
Fitness Mix Enjoy this intermediate level fun class that is different every week! Low impact aerobics, resistance bands, weights and more will be used to give you a workout designed to improve cardio, strength, flexibility and balance (Intermediate). 
Gentle Core Strengthening This class will focus first on developing core strength, the back, abdomen and hips. Body weight resistance as well as bands and stability balls are used to gain a better mind/body connection. Through breathing instruction and modifications, you are encouraged to work at your own level to increase strength, flexibility and coordination. (Intermediate)
Gentle Flow Yoga The nature of this class is a slower pace with a softer gentler practice of the poses. The practice is still active while maintaining a peaceful approach with less strain on the mind and body.
Intro to Yoga If you have thought "I could never do Yoga!" then this class is for you. This foundational class introduces the very basics of the yoga practice, where movements are broken down individually. Participants will learn the basic alignment of postures, mindfulness and breathing techniques. No experience required.
Intro to Yoga: Continuing The Journey This foundational yoga class will build on the basics of yoga. If you have taken an introductory yoga class, this is the next step for your yoga journey.
Line Dancing - Beginner Come and learn the steps and routines required to be a great line dancer. You will burn calories, tone muscles and improve coordination. Please note: you are required to sign up for all classes as this is a progressive course.
Line Dancing - Experienced With choreographed movement done repeated in a sequence of steps in a line or a row, you will feel energized, burn many calories, tone muscles, improve balance, and stimulate brain cells.
Mix it Up Enjoy this intermediate level fun class that is different every week! Low impact aerobics, resistance bands, weights and more will be used to give you a workout designed to improve cardio, strength, flexibility and balance (Advanced).
Mom & Baby Fit This 30 minute class includes a warm-up, full-body strength & endurance training followed by stretching the muscles worked. Including the baby in exercise during the body weight exercises are encouraged. All fitness levels and all trimesters are welcome.
Total Body Strength 30 minutes of strength and anerobic training; focusing on compound moves using free weights and body weight. With intervals of aerobic burst this class will leave you feeling strong and energized. Different every week! Not offered in the Summer.
TRX Circuit 30 minutes of a higher intensity exercise using the TRX suspension trainer, body weight, functional equipment and more. Be ready for a full body workout.
Women's Weight Training

All women of all ages are welcome! You will be instructed on how to use a variety of equipment in the Workout Studio along with using free weights, body weight, balls and bands that will focus on building your strength and increasing your flexibility. You will leave feeling stronger and more energized.

Older Adult Chair Fitness / Chair Yoga Combo This is a beginner exercise class that will be done in the stability of a chair. You will build strength, flexibility, and range of motion in your body through the use of resistance bands, body weight and balance exercises. The first half of the class will be chair exercises improving your fitness and the second half of the class you will be increasing your flexibility through chair yoga poses.
Older Adult Dancing For Fitness This beginner class will help you gently move your body with a mixture of basic dance moves. This class will help you move and feel better while enjoying yourself to some music. Get healthier in cardio, balance, coordination, and mental health exercises. Using a variety of body weight, resistance bands and light weights will be used in the class. (Beginner)
Older Adult Flow Yoga Flowing from one pose to the next without stopping to talk about the finer points of each pose will allow you to come away with a good workout and a great yoga experience.
Older Adult Gentle Exercise & Fitness This gentle class will help you move better and feel better. Get stronger in resistance training, balance and flexibility exercises. Using a variety of body weight, resistance bands and light weights will be used in the class. (Beginner)
Older Adult Martial Arts& Self-Defence  (Introductory) Welcome to our introductory martial arts course tailored for older adults. This course is designed to introduce you to the basics of self-defence in a supportive and inclusive environment. Throughout the course, we'll focus on fundamental aspects such as stance and striking techniques, ensuring you develop a solid foundation in martial arts. Our experienced instructors will guide you through gentle exercises that improve balance, flexibility, and strength, catering to your individual abilities and needs.
Older Adult Yoga Yoga is a form of exercise combining slow, steady movements, controlled breathing, and relaxation. You will be offered modifications to regular yoga to accommodate those who require it.
Stretch & Balance Fit This gentle class will help you move better, feel better and become stronger while having fun. Join us for an hour of gentle movements in resistance training, balance and flexibility exercises. Body weights, resistance bands and light weights will be used (Beginner).
Strong Seniors Studies show that weight-bearing exercises stimulate bone growth, burn calories and increase fitness levels. You will be in the Workout Studio using weights, body weight, bands and aerobic exercise in this program to help you reach your goal. Learning to use proper form, breathing techniques and full range of motion to increase flexibility will make you feel stronger and more energized. (Beginner/Intermediate).
 StrongER Seniors StrongER Seniors class is a continuation of progression from Strong Seniors and for those with some knowledge of resistance training. Not for beginners. Learning to use proper form, breathing techniques and full range of motion to increase flexibility will make you feel stronger and more energized. (Intermediate/Advanced)
Total Body Strength 30 minutes of strength and anaerobic training; focusing on compound moves using free weights and body weight. With intervals of aerobic burst this class will leave you feeling strong and energized. Different every week!
TRC Circuits 30 minutes of a higher intensity exercise using the TRX suspension trainer, body weight, functional equipment and more. Be ready for a full body workout.
Women’s Weight Training This class is for all women of all levels/age groups to focus the most appropriate and efficient exercises for women with all goals. This class will be in the Workout studio, learning how to use the different machines, free weights, body weights, bands and aerobic exercise.
Yoga Fit Yoga Fit is designed to explore the body’s potential in all asanas, also known as postures. As you move through the different asanas there will be an emphasis on proper skeletal alignment and breathe control while also working on your strength and balance. This class will leave you with new self-awareness.
Zumba The joy of Latin dance meets the power of fitness in this fun, feel-good workout with great music and amazing results. Improve your cardiovascular strength, balance, flexibility and coordination in an interval-style class that will leave you feeling fabulous. Learning choreography patterns is great for the brain too! No dance experience required.
Zumba Gold This class brings you all the great music, energy and fun of a dance-based Zumba class in a lower intensity, easy-to-follow version ideal for beginners and older adults. Improve your cardiovascular strength, balance, flexibility and coordination in an interval style workout that will leave you feeling fabulous. Learning choreography patterns is great for the brain too! No dance experience required.
Parkinson's Keep Moving Program The Belleville-Quinte Parkinson Chapter offers this 30 minute workout of BIG movements led by QSWC Health and Wellness Instructors. After the class, everyone is welcome to join the Social in the 50+ Centre. Register with Parkinson Canada - Belleville Quinte Chapter by calling 613-827-5961. Not offered in the Summer.
VON Falls prevention Staying active is an important part of staying healthy and independent. VON SMART classes teach seniors how to be safe, keep moving and improve strength and balance at any fitness level. SMART is ideal for clients who find it hard to take part in traditional exercise classes due to low mobility or poor health. SMART Fall Prevention classes also include an educational component, in which the common reasons for falls and intervention strategies are discussed.
Square Dancing Would you like an introduction to the world Square Dancing? No experience is required for this three week mini-course. You will learn the basics or square dancing, and following "calls" for steps. Since the course is progressive, you must be available for all three weeks to learn the content. Come try something new, and meet new people while getting active. No partner required to attend. Note: a 50+ Membership is required to register.
