Yes, parents/guardians are able to come in with their child and sit in the 2nd floor pool viewing area. |
Do parents have to get in the pool during swimming lessons? |
A parent or guardian will have to accompany their child in the water if it’s for a Preschool Swim Lesson or Swim Kids 1-3. This requirement will remain in effect for both the winter and spring session. The QSWC staff are being proactive by mitigating COVID-19 exposure for the upcoming spring swimming lessons. Participants in Swim Kids 1, 2, 3, and all Preschool levels will still require one parent per child in the water to assist during their lesson. The City of Belleville Staff, after many conversations with both internal and external agencies, has determined the best way to minimize risk to the staff and clients is to continue teaching with distancing requirements in place. Current COVID-19 numbers, among City staff, are at their highest ever, so the need to reduce exposure is critical if aquatic programming is to continue safely and successfully. |
How old do you have to be not to have a parent in the pool? |
Swim Kids 4 and above does not require a parent in the pool. |
I don’t want to get in the pool. What are my options? |
