Various blank faces of community with different shades, ethnicities

Parks and recreation aren’t “nice to have" they are vital infrastructure that, we believe, improves health, strengthens neighbourhoods, boosts local economies, and supports Belleville’s resilience. Our Community Connections Campaign is designed to educate, inspire, and build awareness around the many opportunities available for residents of all ages and every stage of life. Whether through family‑friendly activities, older adult programs, youth engagement opportunities, supports for those who need them most, or our favourite places to walk, hike, and explore, parks and recreation can help every resident feel connected and supported and proven to reduce healthcare costs, combat loneliness, and strengthen the community bonds that make Belleville thrive.

Read additional details about the campaign through the media release shared at the end of 2025.
This is just the beginning, stay tuned for more here in the coming weeks and months.

PRO‑Boundaries Series

Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) created external resources that helped inform our approach to community safety and positive interactions. They are not City of Belleville publications, but we’re sharing them here for those interested in the foundational concepts behind our campaign.
